Do Pictures Lie?
This is the picture in the
personal classifieds ad I responded to.
Beautiful! Isn't she?
I Nicknamed her Voloptous Vicki!
(V V or veevee for short)
During our Month Long "Courtship",
she sent me this
"Less Glamorous + More Natural" photo.
By then I had come to love the person
on the other end of our e-mail, icq,
and phone relationship;
for I THOUGHT I could see the
TRUE "Beauty" within
as well as what I saw in the photographs.
After long and frequent discussions
of the Pros and Cons of her moving
to California to be with me,
it was mutually felt it
would be good for both of us.
Being realistic,
we even discussed what we would do if
"It didn't work out",
including my committment to
"Help find and move her to
wherever she chose to go".
In spite of my objections,
she sold or left many possessions
in Colorado after packing
everything she could fit into her
Ford Ranger,
and arrived
(on Valentines day, 1998)
1 month and 8 days after
our first internet meeting.
I was surprised by our first
face to face meeting
at the end of a 3 mile dirt road
after she had gotten stuck in the mud
and had to call me to meet her.
She was different than either of the
photos depicted or
I had fantasized she would be.
Having already come to love her in absentia,
my love swelled up in my heart
at our first tentative embrace
beside her packed to the brim car.
A love I had only dreamed and fantasized
and hoped for for so many years.
Fourteen months later,
(4 months after being told
"It isnt going to work or last
between us and one of us must leave");
and after living through the happiest year of my life,
I had to sell everything I could to buy a van & start my journey to find happiness.
"If you love something/someone,
let it go, and if it was meant to be,
it will come back to you."

The picture below is of
the woman I fell in love with
that long and cold January,
16 months ago on the internet,
before ever seeing her face to face.
As shown in the picture,
she is also loved by our 4-legged kin,
her cat Princess and my dog Sonny.
The true beauty of a person
is something no camera can capture,
for it lives in the heart,
mind and soul of each of us.
Yet, as I learned, Cameras
AND a person's Heart CAN LIE!
I do not understand what happened or why,
But, I will accept that as I have had to
accept our parting and seperation.
I accept that many things we do not
understand or forsee do happen
despite our inability to comprehend.
In Closing,
Vicki, you held my heart in your hands.
You touched me as no other person has ever touched me
mind, body and soul.
I will go on with my life.
God Bless you in your journey through life.
I will be updating this "Journal" of my quest as often as possible.
