I Arrived in Colorado on November 13, and slept in the barn for the first week - 10 days, when my "room" was finally cleaned out.    The "room" was 10 x 15 with access to the main house blocked by furniture; necessitating my having to go outside, to the opposite end of the house to use the bathroom.    I also had no access to the kitchen, so had to use an electric pot to do my cooking in my room.    Suffice it to say it was somewhat cramped with my dog Sunny, my cat Xena, my computer and tv, and myself   & some of my "Things" The remainder of my possessions remained in my van.

When I arrived, I met Kellie Gibbs first, then Susan Ramsey, who was instrumental in my move to Colorado.
I was welcomed by all, including Phil Staffler the founder of H.A.O.A.R.F..

Over the next 3-4 months, I witnessed the rescue changing (In my opoinion) into a horse trader/broker operation.    Horses were being donated to H.A.O.A.R.F. or bought at auction (30 - 55 cents per pound); kept at the rescue a few days - to a month or less; then sold at HUGE profits with no veterinarian, farrier, or training evaluation. Many going to inexperienced in horsemanship owners. Frequently the horse's problems (health, training, attitude) were not only NOT addressed, but not disclosed to the new owners.

The final straw in my decision to resign from the H.A.O.A.R.F. Board of Directors was when, after 2 weeks of my moving to the new property in Castle Rock, (FOR H.A.O.A.R.F.!) I discovered my mail to University was being "return to sender". I have since found at least one mail from SSI, one from DMV & 1 from auto insurance were returned!
